YOUR WATER. YOUR FUTURE.
Financial Support
The St. Joseph River Watershed encompasses 694,400 acres in six counties in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. The river itself is a source of drinking water for many of the 250,000 people living and working within the watershed boundaries. The river corridor is a source of recreation for boaters and a habitat for numerous species of wildlife, including a growing population of eagles and endangered species like the white cat's pearly mussel. The river is a life force that will sustain this generation and generations to come if we care for it properly.
The St. Joseph River Watershed Initiative, through comprehensive water quality testing, partnerships, wetland restoration, watershed management planning, educational programs, and cost-share programs for the placement of land management practices, is committed to improving water quality in the river and its tributaries.
But we cannot do it alone. We all need to be stewards of the watershed. We invite you to join our efforts and support our programs that monitor and improve the life of the river.
It's Your Water. It's Your Future.
