Water Sampling
Water Sampling
In partnership with the City of Fort Wayne, Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District, and the City of Defiance, a robust water sampling effort has taken place since 1996. From April to October, water samples are taken throughout the St. Joseph, St. Marys, Auglaize, and Upper Maumee River watersheds. This information is all housed in the Water Quality Information Service and used to help identify priority areas that need attention to improve the health of the watershed.
The Water Quality Information Service is a resource for researchers, agency officials, and the public for organizing and presenting water quality data from the St. Joseph, St. Marys, Auglaize, and Upper Maumee River watersheds. It is maintained by the St. Joseph River Watershed Initiative in collaboration with the Environmental Resources Center at Purdue University Fort Wayne.
